Treasures of Colombia: Costilla de Cerdo (Colombian Street Food)

I don’t know about you but I have a soft spot in my belly for Pork, and today I will tell you about a palatable experience that I had with one of the tastiest Pork Ribs that I recently ate.

Ribs can be roasted, baked, grilled, smoked, braised or fried. However, my favorite method of eating ribs (Costilla de Cerdo) is by barbecuing (BBQ).

Treasures of Colombia: Costillas de Cerdo (Colombian Street Food)

I went to a popular restaurant located right here in Villavicencio called “El Amarradero del Mico” and they had barbecue Ribs on their picturesque menu.

The image grippingly beckoned to me and so, without hesitation, I quickly ordered a rack of ribs. When the dish arrived it was accompanied by French fries and lettuce; and without further ado, I bit into a huge piece of pure fatty, lean and mouthwatering goodness!

Barbecue Ribs are versatile and can be served on any occasion be it formal or informal. It can also be accompanied by side dishes of your choice – rice, french fries, bread, cassava (yucca) and plantains (patacones) to name a few.

Barbecue Ribs are so famous and well-loved here in Colombia.

So much so that they are served even at the movies. So if you are planning to host a special event at home or at a specific place, be sure to put BBQ Ribs on your menu.

Enjoy!
